Satellites Unlimited is proud to welcome Sara Litwin as Human Resources Manager. Sara will be responsible for recommending corporate policies related to employee relations, safety, employee services, and performance management across SUI. Sara will also manage the maintenance of employee records to ensure compliance with an emphasis on new hire documentation. Sara received her Bachelor’s Degree from Georgia State University and earned her Master’s Degree in Higher Education and Human Resource Development from Florida State University. Josh Meeks joins SUI as Vice President of Finance. In this position, Josh will be responsible for the accounting operations of SUI, including the production of financial reports and maintaining records, controls, and budgets to mitigate risk, enhance accuracy of reports, and ensure compliance with financial standards. We’re excited to share that McKinney Capital placed 4th in the large employer category at the Birmingham Business Journal’s 2016 Best Places to Work awards! This marks McKinney Capital’s second year as a finalist in the awards. Thirty-five finalist companies were honored at an awards luncheon at The Club. Finalists were selected based on results from an employee opinion survey conducted by Quantum Workplace.
The survey measures a wide range of research-validated workplace factors that impact employee engagement and satisfaction. Metrics measured include trust in leadership, risk retention, and team effectiveness. Over 90% of qualifying local employees at McKinney Capital and portfolio companies Digital Electronic Supply, Landscape Workshop, Pixsys Technologies, and Satellites Unlimited participated in the survey.

Roy Sims has been promoted to Vice President, Central Operations of portfolio company Satellites Unlimited, Inc. In his previous role as Controller, Roy implemented SUI’s first zero-based budget by department and created and managed location financial statements. In his new role, Roy will be partnering with central operations to create efficiencies and streamline corporate support to SUI’s 14 branch offices. He will be responsible for inventory management, fleet management, routing and calendar management, and retail sales. According to CEO Danny McKinney, Roy’s background in accounting and operations makes Roy uniquely qualified and the perfect fit to lead such an important part of the business.
Roy received his Bachelors in Accounting from Auburn University and his MBA from Auburn University at Montgomery. He is a Certified Public Accountant and brings years of experience in accounting, finance, sales, and operations to his new role. Chad Galloway has been promoted to Operations Manager for Landscape Workshop’s Central Alabama branch. In his new role, he will guide the day-to-day operations at our Irondale facility while continuing to lead safety efforts and providing customer service for his book of business.
Chad, a green industry veteran of more than 10 years and has been a part of the Landscape Workshop team for six years. During that time, his excellent performance and dedication to customer satisfaction has allowed him to be promoted into a variety of roles, including Account Manager, Senior Account Manager, Assistant Branch Manager, and now, Operations Manager.
“I am most excited about the opportunity to further my growth and development as a leader here at Landscape Workshop,” Chad said. “The team in Irondale is top tier and being given the opportunity to take a lead role in furthering the culture and development of that location is truly a blessing.”
